Was genau ändert sich nun im Chlordioxidmarkt für Verbraucher? (3/4)

Why Chlorine Dioxide is Harder to Obtain for Private Customers Today

Many people find that chlorine dioxide for private customers is no longer as readily available as it used to be. Offers have become scarcer, some sources of supply no longer exist, and communication around the topic seems much more reserved. This quickly leads to the assumption that sales to private individuals have been generally restricted or even prohibited.

However, this conclusion is too simplistic. The reduced availability is not the result of a single ban, but rather the consequence of a structurally changing market. The private customer sector is particularly affected.

Why the Private Customer Market is Assessed Differently

Products for private customers are subject to different expectations than those for industrial users. In an industrial environment, specialized knowledge is often assumed. Training, processes, and clear responsibilities are part of everyday life there. This is not the case in the private customer market.

Therefore, in addition to the one overarching prerequisite, namely the procurement of products from only 2 manufacturers of ready-to-use chlorine dioxide solutions approved in the EU, the issue of comprehensibility comes more to the fore. Information must be formulated in such a way that it cannot be misunderstood. Statements must be classified without oversimplifying. This is precisely where the demands increase considerably.

For providers, this means that the previously produced products no longer have sales approval in the EU and obtaining them from a licensed source has become extraordinarily difficult, but also the way in which the products are advertised. These two demands are the main reasons why many companies have withdrawn from the private customer business.

Responsibility is Primarily Reflected in Communication

The substance is not the sole critical point. How a product is classified is also crucial. In the private customer sector, an unclear or abbreviated presentation can quickly lead to misconceptions. This is precisely what a stricter framework aims to avoid.

This explains why current presentations are often more explanatory and contain fewer striking statements. It is not about concealing something, but about taking responsibility. This responsibility cannot be conveyed with short sentences or vague promises. Consumers must absolutely understand this framework and therefore inform themselves independently before using CDL2go and other chlorine dioxide products.

Why Fewer Offers Do Not Mean Less Relevance

The lower number of offers is often perceived as a setback. In reality, it is more a sign that the market has become focused. What remains visible are primarily players who are willing to deal with the increased regulatory requirements and the communication effort.

For many buyers, this means less choice, but at the same time more clarity. Those who inform themselves today are less likely to encounter contradictory statements, but more often explanatory content that takes into account the legal framework & context.

A Changed Market Brings Forth New Brands

In this environment, brands are also emerging that are geared to the current framework from the outset. They did not arise from the unclear and unregulated market situation, but from the observation of developments in recent years and a clear strategy.

Our CDL2go is an example of this approach. The brand emerged from intensive engagement with market changes, regulation, and communication risks and consciously aligns itself with today's requirements, not with past freedoms or ambiguities.

Why This Situation Will Remain

The development in the private customer market is not a temporary state. The increased requirements for an approved supplier and the responsibility for appropriate product presentation will not disappear again. Accordingly, the market will remain manageable in the future.

Those who understand this can better classify the decreased diversity of the various brands. It is not an expression of prohibitions, but of conscious decisions in a matured and regulated market.
