Methylene blue is an intense blue dye that has been used for over a century in laboratory diagnostics, microscopy, technology, and cosmetic concepts. It is characterized by its high purity, light activation, and stability.
The solution contains only two components:
- pharmaceutical grade (USP)
- according to the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.)
No preservatives, dyes, solvents or other additives are used.
This product is intended exclusively for external or technical applications . It is used, for example, in microscopy for cell staining or in cosmetic formulations as a light-stable active ingredient.
Important: Not intended for oral, injection, or internal use.
"USP quality" means that the methylene blue meets the standards of the United States Pharmacopeia—an internationally recognized pharmacopoeia. The water used also meets the strict requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.). This purity ensures maximum safety and product stability.
Each batch is tested, analyzed, and certified in the laboratory according to DIN EN 15763. This includes, for example, testing for:
- Heavy metals
- microbial contamination
- Purity and concentration
Unopened, methylene blue has a shelf life of at least 12 months . Once opened, we recommend using the solution within 6 months . Important: Store in a cool, dry place away from light (15–25°C).
Methylene blue is highly staining. Avoid contact with textiles, skin, and porous surfaces—it can leave permanent stains. We recommend wearing gloves and carefully dosing the product using the glass pipette.
